From Orchestras to Underground: A Sonic Voyage of Rhythm and Revelation
Welcome to a musical journey unlike any other—a world shaped by rhythm, passion, and relentless exploration. It’s a story that begins with the disciplined cadence of classical percussion and crescendos into the electrifying pulse of electronic dance music. This isn’t just a career path—it’s a life lived in sound.
The Beat Begins: Classical Foundations
Before the strobes and subwoofers, there were timpani and snare drums. My earliest musical memories are steeped in the precision and grandeur of orchestral performance. Classical percussion taught me the language of rhythm—how to speak through silence, how to build tension with a single strike, and how to move an audience without saying a word.
But even then, the beat was restless. It wanted to move beyond the concert hall.
Brixton Nights: The Spark of Electronic Discovery
The turning point came at a Brixton house party—a serendipitous night that changed everything. The air was thick with bass, the walls pulsed with UK House and Drum and Bass, and the crowd moved as one. It was more than music; it was communion. That night, I didn’t just hear electronic music—I felt it in my bones.
The grooves were infectious, the energy unrelenting, and the sense of belonging profound. Brixton didn’t just introduce me to a genre; it opened a portal to a new way of creating, connecting, and expressing.
Touring Tales: Rockabilly Rhythms and Global Stages
As my journey unfolded, I found myself touring the world with Rockabilly bands—an unexpected chapter that added grit, storytelling, and swagger to my musical vocabulary. Each city, each venue, each collaboration became a brushstroke on the canvas of my sound.
From smoky jazz clubs in Berlin to sunlit festivals in Byron Bay, I absorbed the textures of global rhythm. These experiences didn’t just influence my music—they transformed it.
The Fusion: Classical Precision Meets Club Culture
Today, every House and EDM track I produce is a reflection of this rich tapestry. The meticulous timing of classical percussion lives within the drops and builds. The raw energy of Brixton parties pulses through every bassline. The narrative depth of Rockabilly tours echoes in the emotional arcs of my compositions.
This fusion isn’t accidental—it’s intentional. It’s the sound of someone who has travelled far and wide in the world of music, collecting fragments of rhythm and weaving them into something entirely their own.
More Than Music: A Living Narrative
What I create now is more than music—it’s a living narrative. It’s a celebration of the rhythms that define me, the places that shaped me, and the people who danced beside me. It’s a tribute to exploration, authenticity, and the relentless pursuit of sound.
So whether you’re a classical purist, a club regular, or simply someone who finds joy in a well-crafted beat—welcome. This journey is yours too.
Let’s keep moving. Let’s keep listening. Let’s keep dancing.

Sydney Weekend Blog 11-12 April 2026.
Here's a summary of the past week for me.
Gratitude Grooves: Daily Reflections in Music
Day 1 – Worship, The Beat of Being
Worship is the bassline of life. It thumps steadily beneath every moment, reminding me that even silence has rhythm. Today I heard the pulse of existence, and I danced to it.
Day 2 – Colour in Motion
Each note is a splash of paint across the canvas of the day. Worship and gratitude turns grey skies into neon lights, and ordinary hours into a kaleidoscope. I let the colours spin me around.
Day 3 – Voices in Harmony
Gratitude is the chorus of voices—friends, family, strangers—all blending into one groove. Every laugh, every word, every whisper is a sample I loop into joy.
Day 4 – The Drop
Life builds, layers stack, tension rises. Worship and gratitude are the drop—the release that makes me throw my hands up. I am thankful for the build, the break, and the bliss.
Day 5 – Everyday Remix
Gratitude remixes the mundane. A cup of coffee becomes a sunrise anthem, a walk down the street becomes a festival. I am the DJ of my own joy, spinning worship and gratitude into every track.
Day 6 – Echoes
Gratitude echoes long after the moment passes. A smile reverberates, a melody lingers, a kindness loops. I live inside these echoes, grateful for their endless replay.
Day 7 – The Set Never Ends
Worship/Gratitude is the eternal set. Each day is another track, another chance to move, to feel, to love. The music doesn’t stop—it just shifts, evolves, transforms. And I am grateful for the groove.
As we conclude our reflection this week, it's evident that music holds the transformative power to elevate our spiritual experiences. It serves as a bridge between the earthly and the divine, allowing us to express our gratitude, devotion, and reverence in profound ways.
Let's continue to embrace the attributes of worship and gratitude in music, recognizing its ability to uplift our spirits and deepen our spiritual connections.

“I Don’t Depend On You”
In the landscape of modern electronic music, few artists carry a pedigree as eclectic and disciplined as 303GREG. The Sydney-based composer and producer, born Gregory McCunn, is set to release his latest floor-filler, "I Don’t Depend On You," on 6 April 2026. The track arrives at a career high-water mark, following his recent crowning as the Best Music Creator for Nu Disco & Funky House in Australia by Best of Best Review.
The story of 303GREG is one of a "restless beat." Long before he was commanding dance floors, McCunn was steeped in the grandeur of classical percussion. His foundations were built on the timpani and snare drum, learning the language of rhythm through the lens of orchestral discipline. This classical training remains his "secret weapon," allowing him to build tension and emotional arcs with a level of meticulous timing rarely seen in contemporary EDM.
